Score black Apple Watch Ultra 2 at up to $120 less than Ultra 3 today via Amazon

The new Apple Watch Ultra 3 is now up for pre-order and we have already detailed some opportunities to save some cash on one. But for those not convinced the new model has enough going on to warrant paying (nearly) full price for one, the nearly identical-looking Apple Watch Ultra 2 is seeing some price drops on Amazon right now with the black model now up to $120 off the original list price. 

Ultra 2 carried the same $799 list price as the new Ultra 3, and is now starting down at $679 shipped on Amazon. That $120 less than the new model and within $30 of the Amazon all-time low on the black case variant. Other band/case color configurations are now $100 off at Amazon. 

We have seen some lower prices on select models on Amazon – the Ultra 2 was down at $650 ahead of the Ultra 3 reveal – but it wouldn’t be out of the ordinary to see deal pricing get less generous after the new model is revealed. This is what happened last year and in years prior. 

All things considered, we wouldn’t blame folks for just going with the new model at this point, but the still perfectly capable Apple Watch Ultra 2 is likely more than enough for more than a few folks out there and it is much less pricey right now. The new Ultra 3 does have better battery life as detailed right here, and a better display, but it also looks nearly identical and delivers much of the same features on the software side of things.
