With LEGO’s most recent Double Insider Points event ending, and folks still jumping on the newest sets that hit the market on the first of this month (as well as prep for the official Pokémon releases at the end of the month), we’re getting an exciting new challenge for builders today. LEGO is not only announcing that we will be seeing a new Ideas Yu-Gi-Oh set in the future, but is calling all builders to submit designs over the next month as possible contenders. You can learn all about this new challenge below, including deadlines, rules, and estimated announcements.
It’s time to duel! – in brick-built format, that is, as LEGO is jumping on another popular anime series and issuing a new Ideas challenge that celebrates the popular Japanese TCG and anime, Yu-Gi-Oh! Builders are being called on by the company to submit their ideas inspired by the Battle City and Duelist Kingdom tournament arcs.
You have until March 10, 2026, to submit your LEGO Ideas designs, with a fan vote phase beginning on April 14, 2026, to determine which of these designs will go on to become a full-fledged LEGO set. Results will then be announced later in the year, more than likely by or in September 2026.
There is a maximum limit of 2,000 pieces and a minimum limit of 400 pieces that can be used for each LEGO Ideas submission, giving you some major freedom to really go big with things, if you’d prefer, and considering the over-the-top nature of Yu-Gi-Oh!, it certainly makes sense to provide such larger boundaries. Here’s hoping we get Yugi or Kaiba minifigures, or better yet – Dark Magician and Blue Eyes White Dragon???
Once the March deadline rolls around, LEGO experts will choose up to five builds to move on to fan voting that opens on April 14, 2026. If you want a full rundown on the specifics for dos and don’ts, be sure to check out LEGO’s Ideas outline here – and happy building, everyone! Hopefully this doesn’t end with banishments to the Shadow Realm.
