The new LEGO set unveilings just keep coming this month, and right behind the recent Ideas Yu-Gi-Oh! challenge submissions opening, we’re now getting the official reveal of the next LEGO sci-fi themed sets, the Icons 11389 Project Hail Mary. Not only is this new set, which is based on a very popular novel already open for pre-orders, but it will also be shipping out ahead of the long-awaited movie adaptation that comes a few weeks later. Sci-fi fans will likely be very giddy at the unveiling of LEGO’s Icons 11389 Project Hail Mary set, which, as I mentioned, heralds the release of the theatrical movie adaptation starring Ryan Gosling as Dr. Ryland Grace.
If you aren’t aware, Project Hail Mary is a critically-acclaimed novel by Andy Weir (who also wrote The Martian and Artemis), which is getting its theatrical debut later in March, helmed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller. Stacking up to 830 pieces, you’ll be able to construct a brick-built microscale model of The Hail Mary, the titular starship that Dr. Ryland Grace awakens on and soon discovers the alien engineer, Rocky, as his fellow passenger. Not only are you getting the namesake starship of the story, but also minifigures of both Dr. Ryland Grace and Rocky.
This is a smaller set that will only measure in at 12 inches tall and 8.5 inches wide, with it slated to hit shelves starting March 1, 2026 at $99.99 shipped on LEGO’s direct website, as well as on Amazon.
