LG’s new UltraGear display is the ‘world’s fastest OLED monitor’ with 720Hz refresh rate, now $200 off (All-time low)

We’re tracking some great gaming monitor deals right now, but this might be the most exciting one we’ve spotted in a while. Over on Amazon, LG’s UltraGear 27-inch dual-mode OLED gaming monitor is now down to $799.99 shipped. This model was introduced last August as the “world’s fastest OLED monitor” and it hit the shelves shortly after in December at $1,000. It’s now seeing its first big price drop at 20% off – matched directly at LG. Today’s deal shaves $200 off its usual going rate to mark a new best price to beat. There’s a lot to like here beyond just the 720Hz support, which you’ll definitely want to try at least once, and you can learn more about it below.

The highlight of this UltraGear monitor is its dual-mode support. While the dual-mode feature isn’t entirely new, this monitor takes it to another level with refresh rates going all the way up to 720Hz. You can switch to a 720Hz HD mode for competitive gaming, or use the QHD 540Hz mode when you want better visuals for story-driven titles. It’s an OLED panel with a super-fast 0.02ms response time, along with NVIDIA G-Sync and AMD FreeSync support for smooth gameplay. LG also claims this is its brightest OLED gaming monitor yet, hitting up to 335 nits thanks to its 4th Gen Primary RGB Tandem OLED panel. For connectivity, it includes DisplayPort 2.1 for high-bandwidth performance, plus USB-C and two HDMI 2.1 ports.
