After all the fun last week during the May the 4th six-day event, The LEGO Group is giving us a brand new set reveal that is not only massive, but also an official take on one of the most popular fantasy settings. Of course, I’m talking about LEGO’s Icons 11377 The Lord of the Rings: Minas Tirith set, with this unveiling acting as a lighting of the beacons that will surely call to many builders across the realm. Head below to learn more about it, get the rundown on its exclusive GWP, as well as some upcoming events, and see all the photos we’ve collected for you.
If you thought the previous Barad-dûr or Rivendell sets were large, you may or may not be surprised to learn right up front that LEGO’s new Icons 11377 Minas Tirith set will be the largest LOTR-themed build yet at 8,278 pieces. You’ll be recreating the famous capital of Gondor in hybrid scale, which is raising the bar on what we can expect from future sets for this theme, and I’m sure no one will be complaining.
After all is built, it will stand at 25.5 inches high, 24.5 inches wide, and 14.5 inches deep. It also is coming in a hybrid scale, with an intricate microscale exterior and a minifigure-scale interior, which is an ambitious way to go about capturing the sheer size of the city in the LOTR universe. Not only do you get to admire the grandeur of the city from the outside, but by turning it around, you can still have fun reenacting iconic scenes or create your own.
What’s more, you’ll certainly need minifigures to populate that interior, and the LEGO Group is giving this set 10: Gandalf the White, Faramir, Denethor, Peregrin Took, Arwen, four soldiers, Aragorn as King Elessar (which fans have been waiting for a long time to get in brick form), and plenty of accessories – helmets, shields, and the like.
The new LEGO Icons 11377 The Lord of the Rings: Minas Tirith set will officially be hitting the market on June 1, 2026 at $649.99 shipped, but sadly there is no preorder at the moment to secure it beforehand. Still, you won’t have to wait very long – plus, from June 1 to 6, 2026, you’ll also be getting the exclusive 40893 Grond GWP for as long as the stock lasts. It’s honestly the perfect GWP to join the set, letting you gain the menacing battering ram alongside two orc minifigures.
