As part of Aventon’s latest Labor Day e-bike Sale, we wanted to shine a spotlight on the new generations of the brand’s smart e-bikes getting first-ever savings, one of which is the Level 4 REC Smart Commuter e-bike at $1,799 shipped with either a step-over or step-through design. This new generation will fetch $1,999 at full price after this initial discount ends with the sale, which pops up $100 higher in total price from the predecessor. This is a $200 markdown and the first-ever savings hitting this upgraded generation, setting the bar for future discounts down the road. Like this model, this sale is also giving us the first discount on the counterpart Pace 5 REC Step-Through Smart Cruiser e-bike at $1,599 shipped, down from a $1,799 MSRP. You can also shop the rest of the Labor Day Sale lineup in our original coverage here.
You’re likely asking yourself what the difference is between Aventon’s new Level 4 REC e-bike and the previous Level 3 generation, and not only does it come with an upgraded 750W motor with a 1,440W peak (over the Level 3’s 500W/864W peak), but it’s also been given regenerative braking for extended travel at up to 28 MPH. There’s also the upgraded 733Wh battery with more certified protections, which lends towards a greater travel range of up to 75 miles (over the Level 3’s 70-mile maximum). That’s not all, as it also bears the brand’s Sensor Switch functionality, letting you toggle between a cadence sensor or a torque sensor within the in-app smart controls.
Speaking of smart controls, the smart features have been expanded to cover 4G/GPS connectivity, Apple Watch integration, unusual activity alerts and alarms, an integrated rear wheel lock, and keyless battery access unlocked from the companion app or display. From there, its mechanical features include front Tektro hydraulic disc brakes with an EJ1 quick-disconnect wire, rear Tektro 2-piston hydraulic disc brakes with e-cutoff, a Shimano Altus 8-speed derailleur, Kenda Kwick Seven-5 sport tires, IPX5 (for bike) and IPX6 (for components) water-resistance builds, an Aventon A280 full color display, front and rear integrated lighting, and more.
You can browse the entire Aventon Labor Day Sale lineup here, which includes the second-ever 2026 discount on the lightweight Soltera 2.5 commuter e-bike at its $999 low for the first time since New Year’s, while other e-bike sales can be found in our dedicated hub here.
