ECOVACS debuts DEEBOT X12S OmniCyclone robot vacuum and mop at IFA 2026 with $300 launch savings

The IFA 2026 reveals just keep coming, and today ECOVACS is rolling out the red carpet for the latest addition to its robot cleaner fleet: the DEEBOT X12S OmniCyclone Robot Vacuum and Mop – plus, it’s getting a launch deal right out of the gate, too. The main focus with this new model is whole-home cleaning coverage with a “sealed dust-mite carpet chamber that pushes down into the pile rather than riding along the top.” Head below to get the rundown on this all-new autonomous companion.

“A dust mite allergy isn’t something you just get over. You clean around it. Most robots skim the top of a carpet. We built the X12S to get down to where the dust actually sits.”

Michelle Jones, associate brand marketing director at ECOVACS Americas

The latest flagship from ECOVACS, the DEEBOT X12S OmniCyclone Robot Vacuum and Mop “removed an average of 97.44% of dust mite allergens and 95.45% of dust mites from carpet” during SGS-certified testing. For those wondering, dust mites prefer living in soft materials, with the biggest location in most homes being carpeted areas, which traps mites, dust, and all the allergens they leave behind collected into deep piles that many conventional vacuums just can’t get rid of. That, is the primary focus with the X12S – reaching down into that deeper layer.

Your privacy is built right into the hardware

One big thing many people don’t think about is how robots are getting more and more perceptive of the home that it cleans, and just exactly what they see has mostly been kept to its software, but with the DEEBOT X12S, it’s built right into the hardware. There is a privacy shield that physically covers the AIVI camera here, blocking the lens and ensuring you keep your privacy.

“A cover you can see is easier to trust, because you can look at it. As these robots take in more of the home, people will want to ensure they have their privacy.”

The X12S brings more vacuuming power + a sealed chamber

The DEEBOT X12S OmniCyclone brings along 53 air watts of suction power for handheld-vacuum-level cleaning power, which they brand says is “60% more than the previous-gen X12 robot.” ECOVACS has also retuned the fan from its predecessor, so that this new model can “pull out more dust without adding noise.”

That’s not all that ECOVACS is bragging about here, as they have recorded an “improved carpet dust removal efficiency by 224% over past models,” citing their certified testing results in July 2026. Across these tests on a Wilton carpet, “the X12S removed an average of 97.44% of dust mite allergen (Der f 1) and an average of 95.45% of dust mites (Dermatophagoides farinae).”

The X12S sports a self-cleaning OZMO roller 3.0 mop

One thing I have truly come to love about the newest generation of robot cleaners is the addition of roller mop heads, and the DEEBOT X12S OmniCyclone takes that step forward by replacing the standard rotating mop pads with an OZMO Roller 3.0 mop that not only cleans your floor, but also cleans itself while working.

As it mops floors, fresh water is continuously added to the roller mop at the same time that a scraper is pulling away dirt water and debris, keeping it cleaning on a fresh surface. With this feature, the robot doesn’t need to get more and more dirty and wait to return to its station to handle it. What’s more, this roller mop comes with a FocusJet stain spray that “targets embedded, dried-on stains.”

From there, the rest of its cleaning system is being carried over from the predecessor X12, including the 15mm auto-mop lifting and mop roller smart cover to prevent accidental carpet wetting. There’s also the AIVI 3D 4.0 dual obstacle avoidance (pairing camera vision with 3D laser sensing), and the TruEdge 3.0 that “uses a 3D edge sensor to clean close to walls and baseboards without leaving gaps.”

The X12S’ station cleans the robot and itself

“A robot that cleans your floors but requires you to clean the station all of the time hasn’t saved you much. Like we say, ‘Clean floors. Cleans itself.’ We mean both halves of that.”

Not only does the DEEBOT X12S’ docking station bring along the premium cleaning functions you would expect – emptying the onboard dustbin and water tanks, refilling the water tank, washing the mop head – but it goes so much further. To start, after every mop-washing cycle, the station pressure-washes the OZMO Roller 3.0 mop with a 40 kPa high-pressure pump and also rinses the mop tray with a 26 kPa high-pressure air pump.

That’s not all, as on the robot, there is a propeller that spins “up to 6,000 rpm scrubs out the dirty water tank.” It also hot-air dries the air duct and dustbin, with all this helping to “prevent the damp, odor and bacterial buildup that can turn a neglected station into a hygiene problem.”

From there, the station also “refills the robot’s clean water tank with hot water and doses the cleaning solution, so there are no tanks to fill and no detergent to measure.” According to ECOVACS, this system can go 48 days without the dustbin needing to be emptied, while the mop tray only needs maintenance about every 150 days.

Another interesting feature here is the PowerBoost Charging Plus, which “tops off the battery during short mop-washing dock cycles,” which keeps the robot moving from room to room with minimal downtime between sessions.

Available to purchase with $300 short-term launch savings

As I mentioned, the ECOVACS DEEBOT X12S OmniCyclone is starting right out of the gate with an Amazon launch deal. From today, September 4, until September 11, 2026, you can currently score it down at $999.99 shipped from its $1,300 MSRP. After that, from September 12 through 18, 2026, you’ll still be able to get savings down to $1,099.99 shipped.
