Right behind pre-orders going live for LEGO’s first Super Mario minifigure sets, The LEGO Group has dropped a very exciting teaser video for the now-confirmed Dragon Ball set that brings Toei Animation back into the mix, possibly creating a new theme in the process. Head below to check it out.
While this isn’t the first Toei IP to be given the brick-built treatment – that honor goes to the One Piece theme, which is more of a Netflix partnership rather than an anime-focused one – it has been stirring up excitement for quite some time. That is due to rumors that have been swirling around for months, but now, with the drop of this short teaser video, we finally have our confirmation for the first set inspired by the father of modern manga/anime: Dragon Ball.
The video doesn’t provide us with any specific details, it just shows us the seven iconic Dragon Balls alongside the logo for the original anime series. But based on that little information of them all being brought together and lighting up as they do in the story, theorists are sure to already be hard at work trying to unravel the mystery behind what we might be getting. One thing worth pointing out is the featured “Adults Welcome,” tagline, suggesting this is an 18+ set or theme.
