There are loads of CarPlay and Android adapters out there. More than you can count. Most of them, unfortunately, come from brands you probably never heard of before you went looking. Twelve South on the other hand has been delivering some brilliant accessories for tech enthusiasts for years, and it has just released an extremely compelling new Airfly Drive wireless CarPlay and Android Auto adapter at $40.
Yes, you will find some adapters like this out there for less, whether they are on sale or just some no-name solution for a few bucks you might want to take a chance on. And by all means, go for it – I’m certainly no stranger to the bargain bin – but when it comes to CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, sometimes an investment is very much worth it.
The number of complaints we have seen from folks regarding connectivity issues when it comes to these adapters is many. Sometimes the bargain options work perfect. Sometimes they work perfect for a week and die. Sometimes it’s just a total hassle and a waste of cash.
Twelve South, however, is a tried and tested accessory brand. And not just one that makes cases and chargers. Sure, it does that too, but it’s also been delivering Airfly wireless audio transmitters to AirPods users (myself included) for years, and with the release of the new Airfly Drive, it is bringing its expertise to the road.
Instead of just connecting your AirPods to wired sources, the new Airfly Drive is specifically designed to provide seamless wireless connectivity to both CarPlay and Android Auto setups in a tiny, elegant package for just $40, and to loads of different vehicles.
