Blink debuts first-time 4K, spotlight, pan-tilt cameras + expands outdoor XR series

Blink is expanding its lineup of security devices with five new cameras that are designed to provide sharper video quality, broader vision coverage, and added flexibility to better monitor all that happens around your home – plus, two of them pair with the brand’s Sync Module XR+ hub for extended range beyond the standard Wi-Fi range field. Head below to get the rundown on what each brings to your home.

The first of the two previously mentioned models with extended range, Blink’s Frontier XR+ is the “farthest-reaching camera yet,” with it being especially great for folks in more remote areas or with more expansive properties that have trails and the like. With the Sync Module XR+ this camera can handle up to 7,000 feet of reach from the outdoor-mounted module, so long as there are no obstructions between them.

With larger properties providing more of a challenge to manage, especially at key points like gates, pastures, outbuildings, or even at remote job sites – this camera helps to extend your visibility to keep an eye on areas that you otherwise would struggle to monitor.

The second of the extended range models is Blink’s Outdoor 2K XR+ that pairs sharper 2K video with that greater range from the Sync Module XR+ hub. Unlike the above trail camera, this one offers up to 2,700 feet of total reach with unobstructed view to the hub, or up to 800 feet of reach with some trees or structures between them. This is especially handy for folks with larger yards, longer driveways, detached garages and other structures around the property, or to manage multiple entry points, too.

The camera itself provides 1080p video resolution at max range settings, giving you a 115-degree field of view that broadly covers more of the surroundings alongside adding versatile range connection.

With the outdoor-focused models covered, Blink has one foot out the door and one foot in the door with its Mini 4K+ camera that delivers “its highest-resolution video in a compact, indoor and outdoor design.”

Designed for capturing the details that lower-resolution cameras tend to miss, this model brings along 4K resolution within a 115-degree horizontal field of view, not to mention there’s dual-band Wi-Fi 6 here “for efficient streaming without compromising visual fidelity.” If it ends up outside it comes with an IP65 protection rating – plus, there’s also two-way audio and smart alerts for when any people or vehicles are detected (though this requires a subscription plan).

Speaking of subscriptions, those who join said plan not only gain those above features, but also AI-generated summaries of the camera activity so you can quickly and easily understand what has taken place in front of the camera without needing to watch everything in full.

Heading back outside, but this time focusing on providing more visibility despite the time of day/night, the Spotlight Cam 2K+ that is the Blink’s “first battery-powered spotlight camera.” It combines 2K video with built-in illumination so that you can see more around your home after the sun has set.

This is a a wireless model that can be placed anywhere you want additional visibility, like above the garage, near a back gate, in a side yard, and more. Once the camera picks up on any motion, the spotlight activates and gives you a clearer view while also acting as a deterrent to unwelcome guests.

Another first for Blink is the Mini Pan-Tilt 2K+ camera that has panning, tilting, and zooming for both indoor and outdoor use. Designed to follow the action rather than just capturing what occurs within a fixed frame, this model provides 350-degree panning and 115-degree tilting for more expansive coverage and viewing angles.

There’s also night vision and two-way audio here, and you can unlock motion detection for people and vehicles through a compatible subscription plan. When installed outside, the camera will require a Blink Camera Outdoor Adapter that is sold separately.
