Download VLC’s Remote app for iOS and Apple Watch while it’s free and save $5

VLC Remote, the popular controller app for iOS, is now available for free on the App Store. It typically sells for $4.99 and has gone free one other time, but that deal only lasted a few hours.

This Remote app allows users to control playback of nearly any video file type using VLC on a Mac, PC and now Apple TV. You’ll have access to all playback controls, plus cover art, equalization, and playlists. VLC recently added Apple Watch support for even faster access to play/pause controls. This app is particularly handy if you already use VLC or have an extensive library of video files. Note: must be used in conjunction with VLC’s player app for Mac/PC. Rated 3.5/5 stars all-time.
