Beautyrest has been in the mattress game for nearly a century. Up until recently, the company has followed the mantra that a comfier bed leads to a better night’s rest. With the release of Beautyrest’s new Sleeptracker, it has begun to shift away from solely making comfortable mattress and bedding accessories. Now by incorporating technology, Beautyrest hopes to utilize sleep patterns and other data in order to help you get the best sleep possible.
Unlike other sleep monitors currently on the market, Sleeptracker features an unobtrusive design that is meant to stay out of sight. This effectively means that you’ll be able to get all the benefits of a sleep monitor without having to wear a device on your wrist, keep a module on your nightstand, or clip a device to your pillow. The ‘brains’ of the system are contained in a small unit which is placed under one’s bed that then connect to pads which lay below the mattress.
Sleeptracker is quite feature-rich as well. It currently monitors several elements of your slumber such as REM sleep, deep sleep, how long it took you to fall asleep, and your movement through the night. Heart rate and respiration are also tracked as well. One of the biggest factors that allows it to stand out from the competition is that it can track metrics for two individuals rather than one. So rather than having to buy an extra device to monitor your partner, Sleeptracker supports it from the get-go.

In terms of integrations, SleepTracker connects with Apple’s HealthKit for exporting data. While the Apple Watch still doesn’t support native sleep tracking, the monitor is great for filling in at night and providing data you might otherwise miss. Sleep data can also be utilized by other data tracking apps that support HealthKit as well.
Surprisingly, Amazon Alexa is also supported as well. So instead of checking your phone first thing in the morning, details on your last night’s sleep can be added to the daily Alexa flash briefing.
The monitor pairs to iOS and Android companion applications which offer in-depth analysis of one’s sleep as well as the ability to configure alarms, settings and more. Sleeptracker retails for $199 and is currently available for purchase from Amazon.
