(Update): Target has now released its Top Toys of 2017 List. You can find all the details down below…
The summer has barely just ended for most but the retail holiday push is already starting. While it feels like it’s getting earlier and earlier every year, Walmart has already released its Top 25 Hottest Toys for the Holidays. This year Amazon is getting an early jump as well having now launched its Top 100 Holiday Toys storefront.
Walmart unveils its top 25 toys for kids every year around this time, but this looks to be the first time Amazon has flexed its muscle on the same day. While Amazon has chosen its own top 25, it also has a full storefront setup to showcase its top 100 picks.
Amazon’s top toys for the holiday season include the interactive FurReal Roarin’ Tyler, LEGO’s $160 Boost Creative Toolbox Kit and the Sphero Ultimate Lightning McQueen Vehicle. The major online retailer has also highlighted a number of other LEGO kits including the awesome 1,100-piece BB-8 droid we recently went hands-on with.
Here are some of the more traditional LEGO sets on Amazon’s list:
- LEGO Ninjago Destiny’s Bounty 70618 Building Kit
- LEGO BATMAN MOVIE The Batwing 70916 Building Kit
- LEGO Ninjago Green Ninja Mech Dragon 70612 Building Kit
- LEGO Star Wars First Order Heavy Assault Walker 75189 Building Kit
- More LEGO Ninjago Sets…
Both Walmart and Amazon are betting on Hatchimals making a major return this holiday season. Even though the latest Hatchimals drop won’t be announced until October 6th, Walmart already appears to be hinging its entire holiday toys list on the upcoming surprise. Even Amazon has a number of options in its top 100 including the best-selling Hatchimals Glittering Garden, 12-Pack Hatchimals Colleggtibles and more.
We expected to se a number of STEM related products as well as bots/droids for kids on the lists and that certainly appears to be the case. Along with LEGO’s Boost Creative kit we are also seeing those adorable Fingerlings interactive finger monkeys, the littleBits Star Wars Droid Inventor Kit and Anki’s Cozmo bot.
And here are some other notable mentions:
- R2-D2 App-Enabled Droid by Sphero
- Dash Robot by Wonder Workshop
- DropMix Music Gaming System
- Touch Shape to Life Studio by Play-Doh
