One of this year’s most hyped up games has been Insomniac’s Spider-Man and today, the game has officially gone on sale. To celebrate the launch, Sony has created a limited edition version of the PS4 Pro, so let’s take a little hands-on look…
The Spider-Man edition PS4 Pro ditches the all-black look of the standard console for “Amazing Red,” and it’s a sight to behold in-person. The console has a glossy top with the Spider-Man logo dead center, and the entire console is dressed up in a gorgeous bright red color. Accents are primarily still black, though.
This Limited Edition Marvel’s Spider-Man PS4™ Pro bundle includes a fully customized Amazing Red PS4 Pro console featuring the Spider icon, DUALSHOCK®4 wireless controller, Marvel’s Spider-Man game, and digital content. On the PS4 Pro system, 4K TV owners can experience the game in 2160p dynamic 4K resolution achieved through temporal injection, while HD TV owners will benefit from increased image clarity through super-sampling. HDR TV owners can experience the game in high-dynamic range color (HDR).
For me, the big highlight here is the controller which gets a similar makeover. The included DualShock 4 is dressed up in the same bright red color with white buttons and joysticks, as well as a black touchpad. This is a unique and gorgeous look you simply won’t find elsewhere. I’d take this any day over the “Magma Red” color as well.
