Coverage of eBikes isn’t anything new here at Toys, ranging from stylish, rugged and practical designs. The recently launched UrbanX offers a drastically different take by offering a smart wheel which adds eBike capabilities to any existing bicycle. While other eBikes are much more costly and offer limited styles, UrbanX provides a relatively low-cost and lightweight design which compliments practically any style of bicycle.
UrbanX can be added to your bike in roughly 60 seconds, and provides speeds of up to 20 miles per hour within a 30 mile range. You can choose between six different wheel styles, which fit practically any make or model of bicycle. Like other eBikes, UrbanX also allows you to switch between full electric, pedal assist and traditional bike modes. A companion iPhone and Android app allows you to tweak the configuration of how these modes function. UrbanX can now be backed on Kickstarter at the starting price of $299 and has already reached over 100% of its funding goal. If all goes well, the wheel will ship later this year in July.
