Back in January, Elago unveiled its M3 Apple Watch dock that was made to look like a vintage Mac and we loved it. Fast forward to April and the accessory brand is back again with a new iPhone dock following in the same footsteps. The new M4 Stand for iPhone 7/6/s comes in the same Classic White and Black styling but doesn’t quite have the charm as its little sibling.
At $35, it doesn’t bring the same level of impulse buy as the M3 (currently $13 at Amazon). Another design cue that’s throwing us is the widescreen display, which those vintage Macs obviously didn’t carry. One of the best features of the Apple Watch version is that it leverages inductive charging to power up your wearable. The M4, by comparison, still requires the user to plug-in a Lightning cable through the opening in the side.
Nonetheless, Elago gets props for its willingness to think outside the box of your typical aluminum dock and stand. The M4 is available for purchase today for $34.99 at Amazon.
