Review: Sony WF-1000XM3 true wireless noise-canceling earbuds are the new champs

Over the past month, I’ve used the Sony’s poorly-named but pretty incredible WF-1000XM3 wireless earbuds for gym workouts (recommended) and bike rides (at your own risk). These $228 earbuds fall between Apple’s $159 AirPods and $259 PowerBeats Pro but offer something both don’t: active noise cancellation.

In fact, I reviewed the PowerBeats Pro last month and thought I was done with my search for the perfect wireless earbuds. Turns out I was wrong…

Fitbit taking on Apple Watch with $160 Versa Lite Edition: 4-day battery, sleep tracking, colorful

Apple doesn’t share data about how many watches it sells, but the industry consensus is that the Apple Watch is the clear market leader with half the smart watch market in 2018. Fitbit’s latest smart watch entry may give the Apple Watch a run for its money, however, with a mix of colors that pop and a more affordable price.

AirSnap by Twelve South secures AirPods to your backpack in stylish leather case

When Apple’s AirPods originally debuted, the possibility of losing one or both of the wireless earbuds was a major concern. Apple later added a Find My AirPods feature that helps you locate lost earbuds by playing a loud sound from the speaker, but that’s not as useful when your AirPods are lost in their charging case.

Twelve South wants to make keeping up with your AirPods and charging case easier with its new AirSnap carrying case. AirSnap is a $29 leather pouch that protects your charging case and clips to your backpack or bag so your AirPods don’t go missing in action.

I went behind the scenes of my home office at the start of the year — dual display iMac, HomeKit lighting, and Sonos audio — and a few things have changed in the six months since my first edition.

Fueled by the urge to upgrade a sedentary workday into a more active routine, I’ve made room for a treadmill and turned it into a makeshift walking desk. Naturally, the Apple Watch and HomeKit are a part of my mini home gym.

Behind the Screens: Zac Hall’s blogging and podcasting workstation

Behind the Screens is a new weekly 9to5Toys series that takes you through our writers’ setups, be it mobile, desktop, gaming or home theater. Next up is Zac Hall, 9to5Mac editor and 9to5Mac Daily & Happy Hour podcast host.

My workstation has dramatically evolved since I joined 9to5Mac in 2013. I started with a 2012 Mac mini and a 1080p Dell display on a narrow computer desk in the corner of my bedroom.

This was fine for a while, but a comfortable workstation that fits your needs and personality is essential to making working from home work for you. I’ve since been fortunate enough to graduate from a makeshift workstation in my bedroom to a dedicated home office that starts with two 27-inch 5K displays…
