The free Apple Store iOS app is now offering The Whole Pantry for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch as a free download. If you have both an iPhone and ipad it should automatically download on your iPad when you get it on your phone.

  2. palebob - 11 years ago

I found it, but it wasn’t free.

  3. Franken Bierstein - 11 years ago

I am disappointed to say, it is not free. 🙁

You need to go through the Apple Store app to get it for free, not directly though the App Store.

    Can’t find it for free.Says: $2.99.

Make sure you’re going through the Apple Store App on your iPhone, not directly through the App Store.

I am also not seeing this as free. It is showing that it costs $2.99

You must go through the Apple Store iPhone App, not directly though the App Store.

  6. You know, I feel like I’m in another world as I cannot find this offer on the iOS app called The Apple Store. The app shows lots of flashy info about Apple products but nowhere do I see a tab called “store” as noted in the description. The closest thing is an Apple Store locator.

I had the same frustrating experience a month ago when trying to find a photo app that was offered for free.

Could you please post a couple of screen shots indicating exactly where to find this for those of us who are stumped?

    Thanks

@PandoraDogg – I figured it out. You have to download the free Apple Store App. AFTER you download that, open it, and you it’s actually not showing on the Stores tab, but the Featured tab. If you scroll down, you will see it. Then you can download it. It’s a convoluted complicated procedure, requiring you to “redeem” a code, (don’t use the camera, just hit redeem in the upper right-hand corner). If you have any other questions, let me know.

      • @ Kathy: Thanks. I wish that this forum allowed screen shots to be embedded in comments – it would make the description of my problem much easier. I have an iPad 2 and I have the Apple Store app. When launched, it shows a Mac-like menubar across the top: Apple symbol, iPhone, iPad, iPod, AppleTV, accessories, Stores, then a magnifying glass icon, a face in a circle icon, and a shopping cart icon. The splash screen shows some tents and the silhouette of a couple in a tent, one looking like it’s thumbing its nose. Across the screen it says “From one gift come many.” Scrolling down shows intro screens for iPad, Mac, iPhone, AppleTV, Apple Store Gift Cards, Beats by Dr. Dre, Toys and Games, Connect with an Apple Specialist, Now Trending, followed by a bunch of footnotes. Nowhere is there anything called “Featured.”

It looks like I’m not the only one to have this problem with an iPad.

        Thanks to all who responded.

It’s under “Featured” in the Apple Store App. Scroll down to the iPhone under “Featured” and just below it there is a small icon matching the app icon.

    • James Kelker - 11 years ago

For me on iPhone it shows on the Featured tab right below iPhone (Scroll down about half way).

    • iAMMehCa (@iAMMehCA) - 11 years ago

It worked on my iPhone. Couldn’t find it using my iPad though

    • Raylene Choy - 11 years ago

i could not find it using my ipad. i had to get the app from my phone…and then on the bottom of the phone screen pick “featured”, then scroll down a bit and right above apple tv there should be the selection for downloading “whole pantry”. hope this helps

I found it in the following way on my phone but not iPad. On the Featured Tab, scroll down just a bit and it was between iPhone and Apple TV.
