Symply Inc. and Promise Technology are known for thier digital storage products, and more specifically, high-end RAID systems. Today the companies are announcing the availability of the new Pegasus3 SYMPLY EDITION RAID storage system with “lightning-fast” 40Gb/s Thunderbolt 3 pipelines and its SymplyGO storage management suite.
While certainly geared more toward professional content creators, the new system will come in 3 variants: Pegasus R4/6/8 with four, six and eight drives respectively. Along with compatibility right out of the box for Mac users (Windows is also supported), Pegasus3 will be capable of daisy changing as many as 6 devices together.
We are constantly working to transform the way creative professionals work, providing them with one of the fastest and easiest to use desktop RAID storage systems on the market,” said Alex Grossman, president and CEO of Symply, Inc. “Now that the Pegasus3 SYMPLY EDITION is available, users of the all-new MacBook Pro can realize its full power and start transitioning toward larger, shared creative user workflows to speed up content creation.
Just like the previous gen Pegasus2 systems, the new models should be up on the online Apple Store today. Although we are yet to see them appear just yet. Over at B&H, they are now available starting at $1,499.
This jointly developed Promise and Symply, Inc., desktop RAID solution features lightning-fast 40 Gb/s Thunderbolt

The Pegasus3 SYMPLY EDITION is available in three models: the Pegasus R4, Pegasus R6, and Pegasus R8, delivering four, six, and eight drive configurations of RAID storage. Each system is tested, performance tuned, and will be ready to go right out of the box for desktop users, such as the all-new Apple MacBook Pro®, with a 1m 40 Gb/s Active Thunderbolt
