Today, Nintendo released a new game for both the Nintendo Switch and the Nintendo 3DS systems. It’s called Sushi Striker: The Way of Sushido. This action-puzzle game also has RPG elements, making it check a few of boxes that may make it appeal to a wider audience.
The game’s story is quite playful as it is based on the notion that wars have been fought over Sushi and that a monopoly has been formed over the world’s supply of it. To combat this atrocity, players take control of an orphan named Musashi and get down to business.
The goal is to strategically stack different kinds of sushi rolling by on multiple conveyor belts and then throw the dishes at your opponent. Lots of combo options and special powers keep each stage unique. With over 150 stages, this game will be sure to keep players busy.
“This wonderfully clever game is sure to work up an appetite for fans of frenetic action-puzzle games,” said Doug Bowser, Nintendo of America’s Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “With a simultaneous launch on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo 3DS, fans can enjoy a veritable buffet of sushi anytime, anywhere.”
The story appears to be quite immersive as there are many characters that players will get to know throughout the cutscenes in the game. Once players have either finished the story or have the desire to change things up, they will be able to enjoy the game’s multiplayer experience.
Both Nintendo Switch and 3DS allow players to play local or online multiplayer. Up to two players can battle each other on their own 3DS, or fight for the win sharing the single screen of Nintendo Switch. Users can also play on their own screen if both players have their own Nintendo Switch and copy of Sushi Striker: The Way of Sushido.
Incredibly fun titles like Mario Kart 8 and Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle have helped Nintendo Switch stand apart from other consoles that have very few local multiplayer options. With Sushi Striker: The Way of Sushido, Nintendo adds one more game with local multiplayer to its lineup.
Sushi Striker: The Way of Sushido is available at Amazon for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo 3DS and is priced at $49.99 and $39.99, respectively. Before spending your hard-earned cash, you can enjoy a taste of the game by trying the demo that is available on the Nintendo eShop.
