It had been fetching as much as $140 over the last several months at Amazon, with today’s deal being the first time this massive board game has dropped to under $100 at the retailer. Some of you may be wondering why a board game is commanding such a high price. First, it weighs 20 pounds. (It does include 1,500 cards and 17 miniatures, among various other components.) Also, it features over 100 hours of playable content, so you definitely won’t be bored easily. Some 80% of tabletop gamers have given Gloomhaven a 5 star rating.
If the above deal seems like a little much for you, there’s also Founders of Gloomhaven for $24 shipped. It had recently been in the $30 neighborhood before dropping to a new all-time low. This stand-alone game takes place 100 years before the events of the main Gloomhaven story.

Players must work together out of necessity to clear out menacing dungeons and forgotten ruins. This is a persistent game that is intended to be played over many game sessions. After a scenario, players will make decisions on what to do, which will determine how the story continues, kind of like a “Choose Your Own Adventure” book.
