Roland Beat Sync Maker is a new iOS app that is just what the name implies. Designed for electronic musicians or really just anyone looking to make creative videos with tempo-synced elements, the new app has some deeper features for pros with a grab-and-go front end for casual users. Head below for all the details.
Roland Beat Sync Pro for iOS
Great for demos, music videos, and live performance footage, Roland’s new Beat Sync Maker will automatically detect the BPM and transients in a musical performance using ABS (Auto Beat Sync) technology. This allows creatives to make tempo-synced visual effects and edits to their productions. It has a built-in visualizer of sorts in the form 5 different video effects, each of which include customizable controls and settings as well as the ability to flip between them on the fly.
But you aren’t locked-in to Roland’s built-in stuff entirely. The app does include a series of stock footage that you can implement in your productions, but you can also choose to just import your own clips for more personal (and probably better) videos.
It might take some getting used to and some serious ingenuity to make world class music videos out of this thing. The app is specifically designed for quick and fast tempo-synced content. You can simply drop your performance or song in there, create some cool visual effects, and post it on social media in minutes.
Pricing and Availability
The new Roland Beat Sync Maker is available now on iOS (sorry, no Android options) for free. However, there is a catch here: you can jump in and try the app out for nothing but you’ll only be able to export up to 30 seconds of video at a time. That might work for super quick Instagram posts and the like, but you’ll need to drop $2.99 on the complete version via In-App purchases to get the unlimited exports. Otherwise, you’ll need to own (and be connected to) a Roland GO:MIXER or GO:MIXER PRO to avoid video length limitations.
Speaking of audio/music production, we still have some great deals running on MIDI keyboards, ROLI gear, interfaces, guitars and more right here. For all you pros out there or anyone looking to seriously upgrade their arsenal of software instruments and samplers, the Thanksgiving Native Instruments sale is still live! With only 4 days remaining, you definitely want to check this out as it features some of the best Mac instruments on the planet, including many of the newest NI offerings.
