Amazon Showroom will let you design a room based on specific wall colors and items places around the room, showcasing a specific design that you can shop for once you make a decision.
This service will be great if you are needing to redesign a living room. You’ll be able to customize many aspects of this virtual living room, and hopefully more areas will be added as time goes on like offices, kitchens, bedrooms, bathrooms, and other living areas.

In this virtual setting, you’ll be able to change the wall color and flooring to start with. Once you’re settled on those choices, you can begin to furnish your virtual living room. Amazon lets you choose a sofa, chair, end table, coffee table, lamp, rug, and even put some pictures on the wall.
Of course, once you’ve designed your dream living space, you’ll be able to quickly purchase any of the items used. This is great for people working on redesigning their home or helping a college student move into a new dorm at the beginning of the semester.
After designing your room, you can either save it later if you’re trying to build multiple styles to decide on or just hit “add to cart” and have everything ready for checkout right then. Amazon’s mostly featuring its own in-house brand for most of the furniture styles, though there are third-party options available.
When talking to TechCrunch, Amazon went on record saying the following about the service:
“Amazon Showroom is a new way for customers to visualize their home furnishing purchases when shopping online,” a spokesperson told TechCrunch. “Amazon Showroom presents customers with a virtual living room, where they can customize the décor and furniture selection providing the ability to visually compare to scale representations of furniture items together in a room to determine how an item will fit with the style of a room and work with other complimentary pieces. The result is a photorealistic rendering of a room that answers the question: ‘How will this all look together?’,” they said.
