The latest Satechi Stand & Hub – one of our favorite Mac mini and Mac Studio accessories – is now on sale at Amazon for $79.99 shipped. The latest iteration of the brand’s made for Mac hub debuted at CES earlier this year and carries a regularly $100 price tag. Today’s offer marks one of only a couple notable price drops we have tracked on Amazon since launch, landing on par with the lowest price we have seen there. It, just for comparison’s sake, is still up at full price directly on the Satechi site, and now joins the ongoing $100 price drops we are tracking on Apple’s latest Mac mini configurations. Hit the jump for a closer look.

As we detailed in our hands-on review earlier this year, the latest Satechi Stand & Hub carries the torch from the original model as one of, if not, our favorite accessories for Apple’s headless Macs (mini and Studio that is). It features the same Apple-worthy aluminum construction to match your machine perfectly alongside the form-fitting design made to rest beneath your machine and significantly expand its capabilities in terms of I/O and storage. This time around, Satechi upgraded the Stand & Hub with an NVMe SSD slot – this means you can jack in a proper 2280 SSD right into the hub and expand your Mac’s storage action (NVMe up to 10Gb/s) in an organized, almost built-in sort of way. You can edit footage and store Logic Pro sessions, sample libraries, and the like, as opposed to just using the internal storage for things like Time Machine backups.

As far as ports go, you’ll find a microSD/SD card reader alongside one USB-C 3.2 at up to 10Gb/s, a USB-A 3.2 at up to 10Gb/s, a pair of 5Gb/s USB-A ports, and a 3.5mm audio jack.

Just note, the model on display here is only compatible with the 2023 Mac mini M2/M2 Pro and the 2021 M1 model, as well as the 2023 and 2022 editions of Apple’s Mac Studio. It does not support 2018 and earlier Mac Mini models.
