Sony just announced the next State of Play showcase – 40 mins. of new PS5 games goes live tomorrow

Just as the rumors predicted, Sony has just taken to its official PlayStation Blog to officially announce the next State of Play showcase, and it is now set to go live tomorrow. It turns out that leaked Metal Gear Solid Delta release date and the initial plans to have it revealed during a State of Play this week might indeed be true.

Sony confirms next State of Play showcase

The next PlayStation State of Play showcase is set to go live tomorrow, February 12, 2025 at 2 p.m. PT/5 p.m. ET.

Sony says the show will be loaded with “news and updates on great games coming to PS5” to celebrate the “creative and unique selection of exciting games from studios around the world.”

As per usual, it is not giving up any details on what will actually be on display, but we do know we are in for 40+ minutes of reveals and news updates, and we will be here to follow along with you.

The only real hint we have, which, as we mentioned above, is likely much more than a hint, is Metal Gear Solid Delta – the remake of the beloved MGS 3 Snake Eater. While the game has been largely tied to Xbox showcases since its official reveal, Sony accidentally leaked the August release date last week, as well as the trailer, both of which were likely scheduled to land as part of tomorrow’s State of Play showcase, and might still.
