Update: After just about all signs pointed to The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered dropping some time in late April and as soon as next week, reports are now suggesting that Xbox support is allegedly claiming it will release on Monday. This could be a mistake, but users reaching out to Xbox support were told it is releasing on April 21, 2025 release date.
The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion remake is real, it’s likely releasing very soon, and we have the first leaked images down below. At this point, we have all patently awaiting an official remade return to the province of Cyrodiil for more or less years now, and here it is.
The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion leaks, release all but imminent
While we all sort of knew it was coming at some point here, a massive leak this morning has essentially confirmed it’s coming, and likely sooner than later – some rumors suggest as early as this month, and other, perhaps even more reliable sources, say it is coming next week on PC, PS5, Xbox, and likely Game Pass too.
All of this make this morning’s leak all the more believable, but these images come straight from the developer too.
This morning, and likely by accident, developer Virtuos got spotted hosting some images of the new The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion remake on its official website. It appears as though these images were (sort of) hidden, but that’s certainly not going to stop the Reddit sleuths now is it.
The images have, of course, since been removed, including screenshots of gameplay as well as some comparison shots with the new version and the original from nearly 20 years ago now.
But worry not if you missed out, we have them for you below if you can’t wait until (likely) next week to start playing it yourself – reliable sources have confirmed these images were and likely still are hiding on the Virtuos servers too:
