PNY debuts new Nintendo Switch 2-compatible 890MB/s Express microSD cards, grab yours starting at $45

Several manufacturers, including Lexar and Samsung, have released new Express microSD cards in the months following the Switch 2 announcement. Now, PNY is joining them with its new offerings, and it’s latest memory cards come with 128GB and 256GB storage, both capable of delivering read and write speeds of up to 890MB/s. The prices for these start at $44.99 shipped, and you can grab them now from Amazon. Head below for a closer look and more details.

PNY’s new Express microSD cards, just like other options on the market, deliver better transfer speeds compared to the standard memory cards. The brand’s new card, which comes in white color is capable of delivering read and write speeds of up to 890MB/s and 550MB/s, respectively. While these speeds are slightly lower than Lexar’s PLAY PRO Express microSD cards, which reach up to 900MB/s, they are comparable to SanDisk’s 880MB/s performance. These speeds, according to PNY, are “up to 4.4x faster than standard UHS-I microSD cards,” and are perfect for playing games.

PNY’s new Express microSD cards, as previously mentioned, are only available in 128GB and 256GB capacities, though it should be enough to expand your Switch 2’s storage. It’s worth noting that SanDisk’s Express cards are also limited to 256GB for now. If you need more space, Lexar’s PLAY PRO model offers up to 1TB of storage. PNY claims its Express microSD cards are built for durability. They are resistant to magnets and shocks, and also protected against extreme temperatures, x-rays, water, humidity, and other environmental factors. Additionally, the brand offers a lifetime warranty and includes support for its Photo Recovery software with these cards.

PNY’s new Express microSD cards are now up for grabs at Amazon, and you can snag the 128GB variant for $44.99 shipped and the 256GB model for $55.99 shipped. Here’s are some other options you can consider for your Switch 2 as well if you’re looking to explore some alternatives:
