Update: The first Amazon listing for the Switch 2 Mario Kart World bundle is now up, but still listed as “currently unavailable.”

There has been something going on between Amazon and Nintendo as of late as the biggest online retailer in the country has not been carrying official first-party listings for quite some time, but all that changes now. There is still no Switch 2 console listings as of yet, but we are now seeing official Switch 2 game listings for some of the major new releases for Nintendo’s next-generation console as well as some listings for Switch 1 games and amiibo.

Amazon was, for the most part, the only major online retailer that did not offer Nintendo Switch 2 consoles for pre-order or at launch – it offered them up in Canada, but not in the U.S. The why seems to be unclear, and the when even more so, but they could be on the way as Amazon is now offering official listings for a series of first-party Switch 2 games and more.

Switch 2 games at Amazon

While some of the third-party Switch 2 games found below were already on Amazon, this is the first time we have seen the Nintendo game listings pop for sale:

You’ll also find some of the new amiibo and some new Switch 1 game listings live on Amazon as well – just keep in mind many of these Switch 1 games are on sale at Woot for less right now (alongside many others):

  • Sidon: The Legend of Zelda Series $30
  • STREET FIGHTER 6 Jamie amiibo $40
  • Donkey Kong Country Returns HD $60
  • Mario & Luigi: Brothership $50 (Reg. $60)
  • Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition $58

And here are the ongoing Switch 1 game deals elsehwere:

It’s hard to say what this all means or not, but Amazon is clearly opening its arms to the next-generation of Nintendo gaming. While it has not officially carried Switch consoles and games for quite some time now, it has over the last year or more all of the sudden offered games and consoles here and there, typically during major seasonal holidays and the like. What we are seeing right now might just be something along those lines, but we can’t know for sure. We have reached out to Amazon for comment.

This could also mean, be it temporarily or not, that we could see Amazon offering Switch 2 consoles at some point. Again, it did have pre-orders up for sale in Canada and it wouldn’t be completely out of the norm to see it pop up out of nowhere with listings for a new console list – only time will tell now.
