Watch the 2025 Xbox gamescom livestream today: First-look gameplay, Ally handhelds, and some ‘surprises’

The 2025 gamescom festivities kicked off in major way yesterday with the Opening Night Live livestream, and today it’s Microsoft’s turn. After Mr. Keighley got things going yesterday, guaranteeing Hollow Knight: Silksong will 100% be launching in 2025, followed by a string of new game reveals and new looks at a series of highly-anticipated titles, the ball rolls on today with the Day 1 Xbox @ gamescom broadcast.

Xbox @ gamescom – Day 1

Xbox will be hosting a pair of live broadcasts this year, starting with today’s showcase that is set to go live at 6 a.m. PT/9 a.m. ET. You can watch it with us down below.

As you likely already know from our announcement coverage back in late July, the Xbox booth on the show floor features a ton of notable experiences, not the least of which is the playable demo of Hollow Knight: Silksong. Developer Team Cherry already has a presentation of its own scheduled for tomorrow morning (details on that right here), so we will likely have to wait until then for the actual release date, and possibly a more complete gameplay rundown, but we wouldn’t be surprised to see some kind of short-teaser or a brief glimpse of the game in today’s Xbox show.

Xbox has already promised the new ROG Xbox Ally handhelds for gamescom – we are expecting to get an official release date, or at least the pre-order date for these today – alongside “even more first-look gameplay, new trailers, announcements and deep-dive interviews.

Xbox will have these titles on the show floor:

  • Hollow Knight: Silksong
  • Borderlands 4
  • Onimusha: Way of The Sword
  • Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater
  • EA Sports FC 26
  • Aniimo
  • There Are No Ghosts at the Grand
  • PowerWash Simulator 2
  • Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade
  • Final Fantasy XVI
  • Invincible VS
  • Super Meat Boy 3D
  • Cronos: The New Dawn
  • Mistfall Hunter

Day 1 will include “ROG Xbox Ally handhelds, Grounded 2, Keeper, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, and more.” But Xbox also said previously that it will “have a couple more surprises at the show from [its] partners too.”

Join us on Wednesday, August 20, at 6am PDT / 9am EDT / 2pm BST / 3pm CEST, as we go live with a closer look at some of the biggest games coming to Xbox. Expect first-look gameplay, developer interviews, fresh trailers, and updates from our first-party studios and partners around the world.
