This summer has been quite busy for LEGO fans, as we’ve had some large quantities of new sets hitting the market over the last few months on top of plenty of new reveals, like the Disney 43279 WALL-E and EVE set that had everyone in their feelings over one of Pixar’s cutest couples. Today, the LEGO Group is revealing the upcoming Ideas 21360 Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory set, which is one that’s been a year in the making since being chosen by the LEGO Review Board last August. As I mentioned, LEGO’s new Ideas 21360 Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory set has been in the works for a year since it was announced in August 2024 as one of the LEGO Ideas Review Board’s two picks (alongside the Italian Riviera set that released at the top of this month) after general voting concluded. It comes based off the fan submission by Roberto Ceruti and Jody Padulano (aka 2PPL), with some major changes being made when comparing its original design with this newly revealed final form.
Stacking up to 2,025 pieces, the LEGO Ideas 21360 Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory set is unfortunately not opening for preorders ahead of its official release, which will be on September 18, 2025 for LEGO Insiders at $219.99 shipped.
This is quite the tribute to the 1971 iconic movie starring Gene Wilder, with a display-worthy size of 7.5 inches tall and 20.5 inches wide, complete with all the colorful fixings you’d expect, including a moving chocolate waterfall, the chocolate river, plenty of candy flora, Willy Wonka’s zany office, and the S.S. Wonkatania. There’s also the main cast of characters getting the minifigure treatment too, with Willy Wonka, Charlie, Grandpa Joe, Augustus Gloop, Veruca Salt, Violet Beauregarde, Mike Teavee, and 2 Oompa Loompas.
