Rockstar has officially delayed Grand Theft Auto VI (again)

Noooooooo! After being delayed earlier this year, the most anticipated game, maybe ever, has now been delayed again. Rockstar has now announced that Grand Theft Auto VI has been pushed once again until even later in 2026.

Earlier in 2025 it seemed as though GTA 6 might actually land this year, or at least that is what Rockstar had said initially. That was hopeful thinking really, but just about all indications seem to suggest that before Rockstar officially announced the game would need more time in the oven and delayed its release to May 26, 2026.

However, today Rockstar has taken to its official site to announce that Grand Theft Auto 6 will need nearly another full year to cook:

We are sorry for adding additional time to what we realize has been a long wait, but these extra months will allow us to finish the game with the level of polish you have come to expect and deserve.

We want to thank you again for your patience and support. While the wait is a little longer, we are incredibly excited for players to experience the sprawling state of Leonida and a return to modern day Vice City.

Grand Theft Auto VI is now set to release on Thursday, November 19, 2026. But I will believe it when I see it at this point. Do your thing Rockstar, but please don’t push GTA 6 to 2027.

In the mean time, check out the last official trailer (you have probably already watched 18 times) while you wait:
