As part of the Mario Bros. 40th anniversary, Nintendo announced an upcoming expansion for Super Mario Bros. Wonder that is set to release sometime this spring, but it is also releasing a physical collectible known as Talking Flower too. Today it launched an overview trailer for its adorable new Talking Flower, serving up some details on some of its (sort of) smart capabilities and a release date – pre-orders are set to go live today.
Talking Flower blooms from the screen to the real-world
At the time of writing, the new Talking Flower Overview Trailer is only live within the Nintendo Today! app – it will almost certainly go live on its official YouTube channel and elsewhere shortly.
That’s not all … soon you’ll be able to have your own Talking Flower from Super Mario Bros. Wonder.Place one (or two!) in your home to add a little extra fun to your day. These flowers will talk, and while they can’t converse, sometimes they’ll even talk on their own (if you want them to). These Talking Flowers are planned to bloom in spring 2026.

The unit runs on batteries, according to the trailer, but it isn’t immediately clear if its rechargeable or actual batteries at this point – I’m sure we will find out shortly.
And speaking of Talking Flower, you’ll soon be able to bring the loquacious blossom home in real life. Leave it to speak freely or press the button to make it talk immediately – press the button often and it might even say something special! You can also set a wake-up time for your chatty friend to greet you or a bedtime reminder and it will make sure you know it’s time to tuck in. It will also pay attention to the time of day and temperature and won’t be shy about letting you know the details.
Update: Here it is:
He can talk on his own, but you can shut him up when you get annoyed too. Users can touch the onboard button to get him to share special messages, but you can hold the button when you need a break.
