As spotted by our cohorts across the virtual hall, Sony appears to have just essentially confirmed its upcoming WF-1000XM6 earbuds with a new teaser trailer on its official YouTube channel. While it hasn’t precisely stated as much, the tech lurking in the shadows here is almost certainly its next-generation earbuds.
Sony WF-1000XM6 launch
Last year’s long awaited release of the XM6 over-ear headphones was far and away the most popular in the product category around here (and just about everywhere else it would seem), but it has been nearly as long since Sony updated its popular XM series buds, and it appears the reveal is quickly approaching.
Again, there is no official confirmation, but after a series of leaks – including what appeared to be actual images of the new case and buds – it’s all but certain what we are seeing here is the new Sony XM6 earbuds:
A recent leak showed off the buds themselves as well as the new case design and the quick glimpse we are getting the teaser above looks a whole lot like them if you ask me. The case appears to have switched from a more smooth and rounded approach, like we get with AirPods, to something with a more squared off bottom.
Either way, this is probably the new WF-1000XM6 earbuds and they are probably going to be officially revealed next week on February 12, just like the trailer above (probably) says they will.
