Insomniac just announced the official Marvel’s Wolverine release date on PS5

Insomniac’s take on Wolverine in AAA gaming form was announced something like 5 years ago at this point, and after getting a first look at gameplay last year and the official art in September, we now have a firm release date.

Marvel’s Wolverine release date announced

Marvel’s Wolverine is Insomniac’s follow-up to its mostly brilliant work the Spider-Man franchise and has been, at least for some, one of the most anticipated first-party PlayStation Studio titles for nearly as long.

Last September we got our first really good look at the game, and it looked really good. This thing is a visceral and violent, arguably realistic take on one Marvel’s most visceral and violent characters, and, at least at this point, it looks like we will all be playing it this year.

While there is a good chance, despite its fair share of delays, that GTA 6 will indeed launch a couple months afterwards, it is fair to say Marvel’s Wolverine is one of gaming’s more anticipated upcoming 2026 releases (at least as far as the PS5 sphere goes) and we now know you will be playing it come September 15, 2026, providing it doesn’t get delayed as well. And if it does get delayed, it’s going to get real tricky – no one involved in this game wants to release it any closer than it already is to GTA 6, and even less of them want it delayed into 2027.
