Nintendo announces Mario Day 2026 Direct: The final preview for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie

The Mario 2026 festivities are in full swing already, with game sales already live on the eShop, Amazon, and at Best Buy. And with this year’s celebration landing in honor of the 40th anniversary of the Super Mario Bros. game and the upcoming release of The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, Nintendo has announced the next Nintendo Direct dedicated to Mario’s upcoming big screen adventure. 

Mario Day 2026 Direct – The Super Mario Galaxy Movie

Nintendo has now taken to its official news feed to detail its Mario Day plans, and you can read all about it right here. But there’s clearly more Mario Day announcements to come as it has just confirmed the next Nintendo Direct. 

While it might not be a mainline Direct showcasing Switch games, it will feature the final trailer before the Galaxy movie releases on April 1:

Join us on Monday, Mar 9, at 2pm PT for the #NintendoDirect featuring the final trailer for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie. Please note that no game information will be included in this presentation

Next Monday, 1 day before official Mario Day 2026, Nintendo will host a dedicated Super Mario Galaxy Movie direct at 2 p.m. PT/5 p.m. ET that will feature the “final trailer for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie.” 

Much like previous Mario movie Direct showcases, there will be no Switch or game information included.
