It’s not over yet folks. Not that anyone really thought it was, but prices on PlayStation hardware are going up…again. Sony has now officially announced price hikes on PS5, PS5 Pro, and PlayStation Portal remote player.
In a post on the official PlayStation Blog this morning, Sony has announced official price hikes on PlayStation hardware worldwide due to “continued pressures in the global economic landscape.”
We know that price changes impact our community, and after careful evaluation, we found this was a necessary step to ensure we can continue delivering innovative, high-quality gaming experiences to players worldwide.
If you’re still looking to buy a PlayStation 5, PS5 Pro, or a PlayStation Portal player, you might want to do it now – even future deals will likely just bring them back to the full MSRP at best. The new, and very much higher recommended retail prices for PS5 console are effective starting April 2, 2026 as follows – the PS5 Pro is $900! Yikes.
