Cyberpunk 2077 gets FREE PS5 Pro upgrade today, new graphics modes, more

Accompanied by a new trailer to mark the occasion, the steadfast devs over at CD Projekt are still hard at work on Cyberpunk 2077 and have just today unleashed a FREE upgrade for PlayStation 5 Pro users.

CD Projekt RED says PS5 Pro gamers can now download a new free update to Cyberpunk 2077 that will allow the game to take “full use of the console’s hardware.” It says it provides “optimized performance, enhanced visual fidelity with upgraded PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR), advanced ray tracing features, and more. “

Beyond that, the free update also includes three graphics modes for players to choose from:

  • Performance Mode – “delivers the highest possible frame rate for those who prioritize fast, fluid gameplay…”
  • Ray Tracing Pro – “delivers the full range of available ray tracing enhancements.”
  • Ray Tracing – “Striking a middle ground between the two other modes, Ray Tracing offers a balance between visuals and performance.”

More details from CDPR:

  • The PS5® Pro update takes full advantage of the console’s hardware to deliver smoother performance, higher visual fidelity, and expanded ray tracing features.
  • Players can choose from three graphics modes: Performance, Ray Tracing, and Ray Tracing Pro.
  • The game is currently available to play at no additional cost for PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium members.
