Report: Assassin’s Creed Black Flag remake will be announced next week

An Assassin’s Creed Black Flag remake is inbound, and very soon. For me personally, it is the earlier AC games that deliver the nostalgia and fondest memories, but for many, Black Flag really hit the sweet spot and Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced is purportedly set for release this summer.

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag remake washes ashore

We have heard rumors and early details about this one for a while now, but it appears as though select members of the gaming community have now seen it in action, and an official announcement is all but imminent. Ubisoft has already confirmed its existence.

The game was supposed to be officially announced today, according to some, but that date has now been pushed back until next week.

It appears as though this is a remake, but some of the early rumors that Ubisoft has infused the largely traditional single-player swashbuckling experience with RPG elements is apparently untrue. There are new elements to the game, as far as content and visual updates, but we have heard it remains far more true to the original than that.

A report from Insider Gaming revealed that during today’s official presentation for the remake, Ubisoft stated that it “remains a solo adventure and character-driven experience” and that it is very much “not an RPG.”

The game will, purportedly, release on July 9, 2026.

Stay tuned.
