Nintendo just released new Switch 2 gameplay and details for Yoshi and the Mysterious Book

Nintendo announced the release date for the new Yoshi and the Mysterious Book on Switch 2 last month. Just after that it revealed that digital copies of the game would be $10 less expensive – much like we just saw with the new Splatoon Raiders – and now it has dropped a new overview trailer with more details on Yoshi’s first solo outing on Switch 2.

Yoshi games have largely always been geared more towards a younger audience, and usually to solid results too. It appears Yoshi and the Mysterious Book is much of the same, featuring what looks to be a delightfully storybook-like aesthetic and a more open stage design alongside the usual Yoshi platforming action.

Today Nintendo has unleashed a new 6+ minute overview trailer to give folks a better idea of what to expect ahead of the May 21, 2026 release date:

Discover a world full of all sorts of unusual creatures! Jump into Mr. E’s book, use Yoshi’s actions to explore colorful habitats, and experiment with each creature to learn all kinds of surprising findings across every page. And by finding tokens, you can unlock hints, as well as get predictions on more discoveries!

Pre-orders are now live for the Yoshi and the Mysterious Book and you can scope out more of the latest from Nintendo below:
