Originally priced at $400, this model has more recently been selling for as much as $369, making today’s 27% discount a solid value that takes $100 off its usual going rate. This is the lowest price we’ve tracked for the camera so far this year and one of the best prices we’ve seen overall – now sitting within just $20 of its all-time low. While it may not be the latest GoPro release, it remains a very capable action camera and a far more budget-friendly option compared to the newer HERO13, which is currently going for over $100 more. Even though it’s no longer the newest model in the lineup, the HERO12 Black is still a very capable action camera – especially at the current $269 discount price. You’re still looking at some solid features and a well-rounded set of specifications, including 5.3K video recording, advanced HyperSmooth stabilization, and solid battery performance. It also shares many of the same features with the new HERO13 Black – both cameras shoot at 5.3K resolution, offer similar rugged waterproof builds, and deliver the same reliable stabilization that GoPro is known for. The newer model does offer some nice-to-have features, but you’re not likely to notice a huge difference unless you specifically need the add-on lens modules and other accessories.
