Twelve South’s PowerBug transforms any outlet into a MagSafe charging dock at $36

Just after the launch of its new mini PowerClip power bank and the sculptural USB-C CableStay Anchor, Amazon is now offering nearly 30% off the Twelve South PowerBug – an all-in-one Qi2 MagSafe wall charger.

Amazon is now offering the Twelve South PowerBug in black down at $36.71 shipped. Regularly $50 this is just shy of 30% off the list price and one of the best deals we have tracked to date.

The PowerBug launched last summer at $50 and save for a couple dips into the $40 range, it has largely remained there. Last month we saw a short-lived offer at $35 on this model and a quick dip down to $31.50 for a few hours thereafter, but today’s deal is otherwise the lowest we have tracked.

You can get a complete rundown of what to expect from this one in our Tested with 9to5Toys review, but we will touch on some highlights here.

You’re looking at a round, elegantly designed wall charger with foldable prongs and USB-C output, not unlike every other wall charger you have (just with a unique design).

However, it also sports a full-on Qi2 MagSafe pad on the front, effectively transforming any outlet into a MagSafe charging stand for your phone. It allows you to get your phone up at eye level in the kitchen, the bathroom, or anything else along those lines, without having to drag around a charger and plug it in.

Features at a glance:

  • Transforms outlet into a charging dock
  • USB-C PD port delivers up to 35W of fast charging
  • Charge two devices at once: 20W via USB-C + 15W wireless
  • Supports iOS StandBy mode, perfect for bedside or desk
  • Clean, compact design with foldable prongs
