While it’s not the release date for The Witcher 4 you might have been waiting for, CD PROJEKT RED has now officially announced a third expansion for the brilliant Witcher 3 to enjoy in the meantime.
Taking to the official CDPR news feed, the developer has now announced the third expansion to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
The critically-acclaimed and just about universally beloved RPG was already an incredibly expansive experience, but the new Songs of the Past is set to take things up a notch come 2027. And if this expansions is releasing in 2027, that almost certainly means we are a long ways out from The Witcher 4 release – we, more or less, already knew it would not release before 2027, and now it looks like it could be a 2028 game.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Songs of the Past is described as a “brand new adventure” for the legendary monster slayer Geralt of Rivia. It is set for release in 2027 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
But that, unfortunately, is about all we know at this point outside of CDPR teaming up with developer Fool’s Theory to create the new expansion – there’s no new trailer for Songs of the Past at this point.
