It was a long wait for Hollow Knight Silksong (to put it lightly), but it did finally arrive late last year and ever since fans of the series have been clamoring for a physical release. And now, according to a rather reliable source, we finally have a release date for the Switch 2, Xbox, and PS5 editions, alongside a re-release of the original game.
Rumors have flooded the internet for a while now surrounding an early 2026 release date for the physical edition of the beloved Hollow Knight Silksong. That clearly did not happen, but insiders now claim it is indeed coming and will hit store shelves on October 16, 2026 for Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, and PS5.
The Switch 2 version include the full game on the cartridge alongside for Switch with the Switch 2 upgrade at the ready.
The leaker also says the physical version will come with a 32-page manual and a fold-out map of Pharloom.
Physical editions of Hollow Knight Silksong on Switch 2 will retail for $44.99, while the PS5 and Xbox editions carry a $39.99 list price.
The Hollow Knight Silksong in a box will also be joined by a physical re-release of the original Hollow Knight that is, apparently, set for release stateside on the same day (October 16). This one will only be available for Switch 2 and PS5, but will include the latest update that landed earlier this year alongside a 28-page manual and fold-out map of Hollownest.
The Switch 2 edition will indeed see an up-charge at $39.99 while the PS5 version will land at $34.99.
We cannot officially corroborate any of these details, but this “leak” comes from a particularly reliable source and we have heard rumblings regarding most of these details ourselves for some time now.
