Rockstar announces FREE Grand Theft Auto upgrade on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S

While we all anxiously await the next trailer and pre-orders for GTA 6, Rockstar has announced some FREE upgrades for Grand Theft Auto V on PS5 or Xbox Series X|S.

Rockstar took to its official newswire this morning to officially announce “The Next Big Score” – “Prepare to raid the halls of Los Santos’ most prestigious art gallery in The Kortz Center Heist.” This summer’s new update will go live in July.

To accommodate burgeoning interests in art theft and counterfeiting, you’ll need to add the Art Studio to your Mansion property, then scope out the sprawling Kortz Center complex before choosing an approach for this multi-stage Heist infiltrating and escaping the grounds.

Alongside the Kortz Center Heist reavel, Rockstar also snuck in the announcement of some free upgrades. Starting tomorrow, anyone who owns any PS4 version or the digital Xbox version of GTA V will be able to upgrade to the PS5 or Xbox Series X|S versions for FREE to “experience the best versions of GTAV and GTA Online ahead of the launch of The Kortz Center Heist.”

GTAV and GTA Online on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S feature vast technical improvements, easy migration of your Story Mode and Online progress, and new features including Hao’s Special Works high-performance vehicles and upgrades, Career Progress rewards, and much more.

As for PC gamers, you can also “experience all these updates along with PC-only features such as ray traced ambient occlusion and global illumination, by upgrading from Legacy to Enhanced for free.”

Okay, awesome, thanks Rockstar much appreciated, but where’s the new GTA VI trailer?
