Best Buy is putting a bigger spotlight on gaming today with the launch of Best Buy Gamers, a new dedicated hub that’s now available in beta through the online store and the Best Buy app. The new experience brings together gaming news, reviews, videos, deals, member offers, sweepstakes, and upcoming events in one place, with IGN powering the editorial side of things. Head below for a closer look and more details.
Best Buy Gamers experience now live with deals, news, more
The new Best Buy Gamers experience is now live, with a huge spotlight on gaming content, deals, and a whole lot more. It’s essentially a dedicated gaming hub, and can also create a personalized Best Buy Gamers profile and tell the retailer which platforms, devices, and genres you’re interested in. Best Buy says that information will be used to surface more relevant content, products, and offers over time, with the beta expected to keep evolving based on feedback.

There’s also a small launch perk for My Best Buy members right now, with the first 200,000 members creating a Best Buy Gamers profile using the same account tied to their membership scoring a $5 promotional certificate. Best Buy says qualifying members should see the certificate arrive roughly 15 days later, and it’ll be valid for 30 days once issued.
The new Best Buy Gamers experience is now live, and here’s what you can expect from this space starting today:
- Expert content from IGN: Through its new partnership with IGN, gamers will find special gaming reviews, articles and videos, including content created just for Best Buy’s Gamers.
- Personalized profiles: Gamers can create a personal profile and select their favorite platforms and devices, the genres they follow and how they like to play.
- In-store gaming experience: This November, gamers will have the opportunity to experience Best Buy Gamers Beta live with the grand opening of a dedicated in-store gaming experience in Torrance, Calif. There, gamers can play the latest titles, get expert tips and attend events hosted in partnership with IGN.
- Event updates: Best Buy Gamers will feature Best Buy’s biggest gaming moments, including in-store events like the upcoming late-night store openings to celebrate the Nov. 5 launch of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and a League of Legends pop-up with Alienware and Team Liquid at the Best Buy store in Brooklyn.
- Gear, deals and member offers: Gamers can explore new gear to take their play to the next level, find deals on the hottest products and unlock exclusive offers for My Best Buy Plus™ and My Best Buy Total™ members.

Beyond the online hub, Best Buy is also tying the new Gamers branding into some of its bigger gaming events and in-store experiences. There are sweepstakes in the mix too, including one promotion that gives a winner two minutes to race through a Best Buy store and keep whatever they can load into a shopping cart. Those giveaways are set to run through the end of November.
Best Buy Gamers is free to access starting today, and it looks like the retailer is clearly trying to make gaming a much more distinct part of its broader shopping experience rather than just another category page.
