Back in early September Twelve South introduced what can only be described as one of the more impressive and exciting wall chargers with its new PlugBug. Wall chargers are inherently about as useful and necessary as they are the exact opposite of exciting. But with built-in Apple Find My action…now we are talking. I have since had a chance to love every second of this thing after going hands-on and subsequently finding a permanent place for it in my Travel Kit, but there’s a new, slightly more capable version on the block now. And by on the block, I mean exclusively at Apple Stores.
Apple Store-exclusive PlubBug Travel with Find My
First let’s quickly rundown a refresh on what the PlugBug actually is. Twelve South’s upgraded 2024 PlugBug is effectively and literally just a wall charger – a pair of foldable outlet prongs on one side with a set of either two or four USB-C ports along the bottom to juice your gear up.
There are two different models, both equipped with Apple Find My so you never misplace it (for very long) or leave it in the hotel room. There’s a 50W model and a 120W variant – Twelve South intelligently disperses the max output power across the USB-C ports, prioritizing the gear that needs the most juice.
