Nintendo accessory maker claims Switch 2 is launching in April, mock-up based on actual console

The Switch 2 has to be coming soon right? The latest rumors suggest Nintendo’s next hardware release will be launching in April, and this time the details are coming from a Switch accessory maker that seems to be claiming to have the unit, or at the least the official specs. Details and a closer look at a mockup from the brand can be found below.

Nintendo Switch 2 launching in April?

Switch accessory maker Genki claims to have the specs and has created a mockup of the new Switch 2 console based on the real thing. This doesn’t seem to be completely out of the question as other accessory makers like Dbrand have also claimed to have the official specs in some way or other.

Now, we obviously we can’t confirm any of this, but the Genki mockup and recent teaser video it has released for what appears to be its upcoming Switch 2 accessories is inline with other leaks we have spotted on Reddit and other sites.

Here are some images of the mockup from Genki as well as its teaser video:

Genki says the Switch 2 will be launching in April, although you would have thought Nintendo would have dished some sort of official details by now if that was going to be the case…but an official nod could be any time now too.

The accessory maker is saying the Joy-Con have a new optical sensor feature and that it doesn’t not know what the “C” button is for.

Genki claims the Switch 2 will launch in April. It also claims its Switch 2 mockup is based on a real Nintendo Switch 2.

They also say the optical sensor on the Joy-Con is a new feature of the Switch 2 but doesn’t know what the “C Button” is for.

Dbrand, another tech accessory maker, has also previously said it has the “actual dimensions” of the Switch 2 from a 3D scan of some kind, not some sort of guess it is working from, according to reports. The brand also says it has an 8-inch display – it doesn’t not know if the display is LED or OLED though – alongside corroborating the magnetic Joy-Con and additional top-mounted USB-C port on we have heard rumors of in the past.

Dbrand said it definitely does not have details on a release date, but it is aiming to have its Kill Switch accessory ready for late March/early April.

Okay Nintendo, enough is enough, after years of rumors and waiting, we need the goods and we need them soooooon.
