Capcom has officially unveiled the new Resident Evil Requiem, here’s the debut trailer and everything we know so far

Capcom has officially unveiled Resident Evil 9, or Resident Evil Requiem as it is officially known. Rumors surfaced all over the net the last week about what appeared to be an imminent upcoming reveal, and it is now officially here. Scope out the announcement trailer below.

At today’s Summer Game Fest 2025, we waited through what was, at least for me, a not so exciting 2-hour presentation for the big announcement of this year’s show, and it did not disappoint. This year’s event was about to be one of the worst in recent memory for me, until Mr. Keighley unveiled the global reveal of the new Resident Evil Requiem and essentially saved the entire SGF 2025 showcase for me.

Resident Evil Requiem releases on February 27. 2026, and it will be playable for fans at Gamescom.

Resident Evil Requiem is the highly anticipated ninth title in the mainline Resident Evil series. Prepare to escape death in a heart-stopping experience that will chill you to your core.

A new era of survival horror begins when Resident Evil Requiem launches February 27, 2026 for PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S and Steam.

We don’t know much about the new game outside of speculation, and what we can gleam from the trailer, but an official site for it is now live with the following information.
