Okay this it folks – the next major Switch 2 restock is going live today. As we have reported on previously, Walmart is scheduled to have what we have been told by inside sources is quite a substantial number of Switch 2 consoles up for grabs this evening, and we are here to do everything we can to make sure you get one.
While there’s no way to know for sure how many units will actually be available tonight at Walmart, 9to5Toys has been told by sources with inside knowledge of tonight’s restock that it will potentially be more substantial than we have seen previously.

All of that said, there have already been a number of restock events since pre-orders went live back in April and even more after launch week in early June. Best Buy has come through a couple times already and even Target had a couple very quick opportunities for folks to scoop one up. But Walmart has seemingly had the most number of units since April, right through the launch window, and it now has even more on deck.
As we detailed previously, it is unfortunately locking early access for tonight’s restock behind its Walmart+ membership. This means that only paid Walmart+ members will be able to purchase one for the first hour of access (from 9 p.m. ET to 10 p.m. ET).
While Walmart has already said as much officially, we can also confirm that we have specifically been told that only paid Walmart+ members will have early access – you can’t just score the FREE trial to get access here, it simply will not work.
This means that you’ll either need to score the $98 yearly Walmart+ membership – the most affordable per month price – or, just land a $13 month right now specifically to get early access.

This will not guarantee you get one, but it will certainly help your chances quite a bit. There’s no telling if what Walmart is calling “early access” is actually that, or just the only way to get one tonight. They, frankly, might be all gone before the listings open up to everyone at 10 p.m. ET – we just can’t know for sure at this point.
Adding on the $13, never mind the $98, to the price of the already pricey console isn’t fun…we get it. And we don’t necessarily even recommend it. But if you absolutely must have the best possible chances to land one tonight, that’s what you’ll need. There are a ton of other benefits to Walmart membership, including early access to Black Friday deals and its upcoming Walmart Deals Prime Day sale, but we obviously can’t say for sure there won’t be other chances to land a Switch 2 online in the coming month or two at this point.
