Here are the first images of Zelda and Link from Nintendo’s upcoming live-action film

While it’s been all about the new Super Mario Galaxy Movie as of late, Nintendo did confirm its live-action Zelda film earlier this year before announcing the actors set to personify its titular princess and the Hero of Light this past summer. However, up until now, we were yet see any images from the film or the set – Nintendo just unleashed the very visuals of Zelda and Link from the film.

When a company like Nintendo decides it’s going to make a movie based on characters we all grew up with, everyone just hopes it doesn’t mess the whole thing up. It, as far as I’m concerned, did a great job with the Mario Movie, but that’s animated so it was really just about capturing the vibe of the games and making sure you don’t entirely mess up the voice acting.

But with a live-action Zelda re-creation, we are talking about something else entirely. We will have to wait to hear Benjamin Evan Ainsworth’s Link and Bo Bragason’s Zelda in action, but we do have our first look at them from the set courtesy of an update in the official Nintendo Today! app:

You can’t share the images from the app directly – these images come courtesy of Vook – and we will update this post with official pics if/when they come available:

Nintendo says filming has now begun ahead of the May 7, 2027 release date.
